Hi Carolyn, I don't know much about the part of Roane being made a part of Meigs Co in 1880's....but I do know that the area of Ten Mile(or parts of it) was all Rhea Co. TN until 1836, when it divided into Rhea/Meigs........Meigs to the right of the TN River and Rhea to the left...... As we talked about before, my Cash family also in the Ten Mile area of Rhea then Meigs Co. They appear to go back before 1830 and associated families are Rowden, Gibson, Refrow and Ford. ... I'm sure there's someone out there who is much more knowledgable than me on these county designations and dates.....wish I could help more.....good luck, Chris
