Re: Roane County Ambrose family - I, too am trying to research the Ambrose family. My grandfather's mother was Mary Elizabeth Ambrose. His father was James Madison Johnson. We were told by my grandfather (James Leodia Johnson) that he was part Cherokee. My grandfather had other siblings - John David, Ida, Molly Jane, who married Bob Keylon. James Madison had a second marriage with other children. I am most interested in the Ambrose family. If anyone can add to this, I would be most appreciative.....
