    3. >Sue, do you have any information on this Brannon? I have some Brannons in my >Roane County files. Richard, That particular Brannan stayed in Johnston Co, NC, his entire life. However, one of my Johnston Co Brannans moved to Tennessee in the late 1700's. He was awarded some bounty land for serving in the Revolutionary War. The land was at first a part of NC, but by the time he got it, it had become part of Tennessee. It was in Washington Co. Was Roane Co made from part of Washington Co? I'm afraid I don't know much about TN. His name was Thomas Brannan, Jr., and the only reference to his wife that I've found, in a deed, had her name as Sukey. Sounds like a nickname. He was never on a census in Johnston Co, so I don't know how many kids he might have had when he moved to TN. I'm sure that Thomas must have some descendants somewhere, but so far I have been unable to connect with any. He died in Bledsoe Co, TN, after being granted a pension for his war service. Thomas had siblings named James, Anne, Sarah, William, Caron, and Tabitha. His mother's name was Catherine. Do any of these names appear among your Brannons? They tended to use some of them over and over. What are the names of your Brannons? I would love to make a connection. Sue Brannan Plaster
