Following convential naming patterns of the time... these could be some indicators. Could Alber Hurt be named after his father? Is there a James Hurt anywhere close by? We know that David B. Shahan's parent's names were Daniel Shahan and Martha "Patsey" Hussong. Daniel Shahan married Patsey Hussong August l0, l820 in Blount County, Tenn. We have census information in Roane County which indicates that Daniel was a shoemaker, born ca. 1799 in South Carolina.
