Oddly enough, the home page is www.heritagequest.com It is not organized all that well, in my opinion. You can go directly to http://www.heritagequest.com/ProdFind2/census.htm#1860 Be advised, this is a copy of the original microfilm. No index is included. But CD has cleaned up the film as best they can, so it is easier to read. You can print out copies, of course, and zoom in for closer look. You may want to take a look at what Family Tree Maker has to offer too. I'm not up to date on their catalog. I would also make another comment about the book (and others done by RCGS, and Bailey Publishing). Local people worked on them, sometimes correcting known errors, and including introductions that might be helpful to you, and Index. Since I have a lot of ancestors of interest in Roane, I got both the book and CD. If a person only has one or two searches, the most economical thing is still the microfilm rental.
