    1. Re: [TNROANE] 1830 Roane Co. TN Census help
    2. Hi Donna, Nice to hear from you. I have been searching for a roster of the 5th TN Cav(McKenzie's), Co. B for some time. All I've been able to put together has been from my family that was in this unit: Monroe(J.M.), Henry W., Abraham Looney CASH and Stephen FORD. My ancestor, Monroe CASH b. 1826 East TN joined the 5th TN Cav., Co. B in Jan. 1862...then goes to Welcker's abt. Aug. 64(Kincaid also went to Welcker's about this time...so alot of these guys were following him, probably).....Welcker's was disbanded in early 1864 and my Monroe went back to the 5th TN Cav., Co. B again. He was pardoned 1865 in Charlotte, NC giving his home of residence as Decatur, Meigs Co. TN. Check out this website: http://www.tennessee-scv.org/heroes/edgemond.htm This Pvt. Edgemond(I think he is from Roane Co.) is in the 5th TN Cav, Co. B and also serves in Welcker's Cavalry Batt'n. also: you can find info on Welcker's Cav. Bn and the 5th TN Cav(McKenzie's), Co. B at these sites(you'll have to fish for these units a bit...just go under Confederate Cavalry and you can find them on the list: http://www.tngennet.org/civilwar/tncwindex.html there is a copy of the rosters of Welcker's at(unless it isn't posted anymore): http://www.roanetnheritage.com/research/military/civil%20war/confederate/02.ht m I only see a Jesse Cooley on the rosters...probably a relation to your group? Hope this helps some. Again, nice to hear and take care, Chris.
