i am still searching for my family names of ambrose and rutherford. they lived in roan county in the early and later 1800's. if anyone has any information, would greatly appreciate it thank you Dorothy rutherford whitfield

Hi Dorothy, I am still looking, too. I have extensive info on all of my relatives, except the Johnsons and Ambroses from Roane County. My great grandfather (James Madison Johnson) was married to Mary Elizabeth Ambrose. After she died he married (coincidently) Mary Elizabeth Selser. I cannot find anything else on Ambroses or my great grandfather's parents. I know his father was Greenbury and he had a half brother named JMJ (Lum) Johnson. No more info on the Ambroses at all. If you find any, let me know...
