I am researching my family tree. It goes back to John Clifton in Franklin County in the mid-1800s. However, I have a pension application of one of the children saying he was born in Rhea county. I have discovered Rowena Goolsby's parents (she is wife of John Clifton). However, I have not connected John. I know that Bailey Clifton lived in Roane or Rhea county and one list I have found has a John Redick Clifton as son of his, and the ages would be about right.
