    3. Crossville Chronicle obit... Myrtle R. Crawford April 9, 1925 - April 12, 2003 Myrtle Ruth Marlow Crawford, 78, of Sparta, passed away April 12, 2003. Funeral services were held April 15 at Bon Air Church of God, with burial in Eastland Cemetery. Bros. Larry Dye, J.V. Lowery and Robert Decker officiated. Mrs. Crawford was born April 9, 1925 in White County, TN, the daughter of John Lee Marlow and Ella Elizabeth Walker Marlow. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Joseph "Joe" F. Crawford of Sparta; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Ruth and Bobby Palmer of Cookeville; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Patty Crawford of Sparta and Steve and Patricia Crawford of Murfreesboro; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Lucy Marlow of Ohio, Gerald and Lula Marlow of Georgia and Bill and Judy Marlow of Virginia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia and Walter Rindfleisch of Florida, Lois and Virgis Huges of Florida, Mary Elizabeth and Richard Givens of Washington, Lou Ella Stage of Rockwood, Sylvia and Dennis Baird of Rockwood and Sandra Kay and Milburn Proffitt of Rockwood; sisters-in-law, Christine Johnsen of Sparta and Christine Marlow of Soddy-Daisy; grandsons, Reed Palmer and wife, Vanessa, Steven Crawford and wife, Lisa, and Brandon Crawford; granddaughters, Stephanie Decker and husband, Robert, Becky Crawford and Beth Howard and husband, Jonathan; great-grandsons, Anthony and Andrew Palmer; great-granddaughters, MerLyna and MyLeah Decker; step granddaughter, Jennifer Freeland and husband, Michael; step grandson, Jason Covington; step great-grandsons, Michael Lance Freeland, Layne Covington and Chance Covington; step great-granddaughter, Hunter Covington; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Marlow; and sister, Fay Gibbons. Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta was in charge of the arrangements.
