Thanks Milly!! You're a doll. Not sure now if this William is mine. I'm trying to find a William Eldridge with a wife whose name starts with a B as parents of a John Eldridge born May 1851. They may also have a son Thomas born 1856. Both sons born in TN. These Eldridge (likely one generation either direction of said William) supposedly owned slaves, but I've not found em' yet. A kind soul sent me an 1860 Slave Schedule entry for a William Eldridge in Roane Co. But I don't know if that means William was head of household with slaves or a William Eldridge was the slave. Do you know?
