    3. Go south at the Kingston exit from I40. Maybe a mile, on the left is the "old" courthouse, now the Roane County Heritage Comission. That is where you will probably have best luck. If I'm remembering right, they're closed on Thursday. Do a search on their name & you'll find their website. Lots of old records that exist NOWHERE else plus microfilm of everything that TSLA in Nashville has on Roane Co. & folks there are very helpful. "Real" courthouse is just benind old building & visible from there. Library, which didn't impress me, is further south on main drag (sorry I don't remember name of street) and off to left in new office complex. Once you get to old courthouse (you can't miss it - pre Civil War building) they can tell you about other places to visit. ----- Original Message ----- From: Dave Berry Sent: Sunday, April 07, 2002 9:10 AM To: TNROANE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TNROANE] maps Need to find a map and address's for the library, court house, historical societies, etc. to do some serious researching on an up coming trip in May. 1. [TNROANE] Eldridge
    2. I am looking for any Eldridge in TN. who may have moved in to Kentucky, or had children who may have moved in to KY. My GGG grandfather came in to Calloway, Co. KY., showing up in the 1830 census, with wife and two boys, under five years. I have been unable to find any family , or him before 1830, his name Obediah Eldridge, this maybe only part of his full name. He married Martha Redden, about 1832, and Elizabeth Winchester. Anything will be of help. Thank you, Patsy
