    3. This handwritten list, along with the cost of the trip was found in the family bible (several separate pages) belonging to Maryville Hurst & his wife Sarah Margaret BRADY Hurst. It was not dated and nobody knows for sure whose trip it represented. Maryville Hurst was born in Dec 1839 in Morgan Co. TN. Because he fought on wrong (CSA) side he was not allowed to return home after war & settled "down the road" in Rhea Co. near Spring City. I believe he met Sarah there, but they were not married until they were in Texas in 1881. I know she was also from Rhea Co. but haven't gone any further back from her. A bunch of Hursts & associated families left Rhea & Morgan Co. in late 70s and 1880s & ended up in the Dallas Texas area. Lots of Bradys went the same route, so its anybodys guess which trip this actually represented. Maryville was my great grandfather's brother. By the way, the reported costs were as follows: Farieg? ( either ferrying or farrier - horse shoeing).......$14.65 Toll......................................................................$8.45 Provision..............................................................$52.55 Teems (teams)......................................................$88.85 TOTLE $164.50 ----- Original Message ----- From: P McDonald Sent: Friday, September 06, 2002 11:19 AM To: TNROANE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TNROANE] Migration to Missouri in 1840's...where did it take them? 1. Re: [TNROANE] Migration to Missouri in 1840's...where did it take them?
    2. Dear Ernest, Thank you so very much for your kind reply and wonderful info! Some of those places sound very familiar....have later connections of this same family in Golconda, IL that I know about(gUncles). This gives me a good place to start. My ggGranparents went from Roane/Meigs border region to Cedar Co. MO(adjacent to Abraham Rowden and I believe some of the Hembree's wound up there too). We have never found a marriage for my Cash's....show up as man and wife there in 1850. They later returned to Meigs Co. TN ca. 1860 and appear in a marriage there ca. 1867. So, I am hoping to learn more of their marriage(if there was one) and also about "life on the trail". I will let you know if I get any interesting facts from these localities and will post to the list if it might help others. No doubt, there must be some good publications out there also. Thank you again for your kindness and hard work. God Bless, Chris
