Need the name of the cemetery near Rockwood, Roane County, TN where Henry L. Steele and his wife Amanda Jane (Smith) Steele are buried. Amanda died about 1943. Henry died in 1959 in Indiana and returned to TN for burial with his wife. I believe Amanda's brother George Wilson Smith and wife (she was a Housely) are probably buried in the same cemetery. Henry was my great grandfather's brother. Amanda was my great grandmother's sister. James Lawson Steele (Henry's brother) married Oma Green Smith (Amanda's sister) in DeKalb County, TN 8 May 1901. Henry and Amanda were married in DeKalb about 1894. I am intouch with Henry's great-granddaughter who has informed me that they are buried near Rockwood in Roane County. Thanks, Will Smith Hillsboro, TN
There is a Mrs. B. A. Eldridge laid to rest at the New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Loudon Co., TN. She was born Oct 29, 1831 and died Aug 7, 1911). Her name is on the same stone as husband W. A. Eldridge (Feb 13,1827- June 18, 1896) I did not find her on the Roane Co., TN death index which covered the years up to 1914, if I'm not mistaken. I'm wondering if there was a newspaper that covered that area back then that might have carried an obituary or mention of her death. I'm trying to piece together the names of her children and am having NO luck with finding census records. OR, might she have had a WILL since her husband preceded her in death? HELP!! I'm trying to get through the brick wall by going around it :-) Mary in CA
Does anyone know how I could go about obtaining a WILL filed in Roane Co in 1864 by Jesse Eldridge? He died May 17, 1864 (at age 102) and is laid to rest at the New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Loudon Co. Mary in CA

Have the 1860 and 1870 census records of Roane Co., TN been indexed and or transcribed? Am looking for the family of William and Bethilda (Taliaferro) Eldridge. They were married Dec 2 1851 in said county. They would have a son J. R. (John Robert?) and possibly Thomas. Thank you, Mary in CA
Does anyone on the list know of William Eldridge and Bethilda Taliaferro who married in Roane Co., TN on Dec 2 1851? Mary
Would appreciate any information on Keelin family on TN. Know I have some cousins there, have met them at family reunion in Hopkins County Texas. Believe they live south of Memphis. Thanks Willard Keelin keelwillk@hillsboro.net
I'm desperately hoping that someone can help me find the family of my ggGrandfather John KELLEY / KELLY. His date and place of birth, based on IL and WI Census Records, was about 1816 in TN. He was married by 1844 when his first of 7 sons was born in Lyme, Carroll Co., IL. His wife was Barbery (Barbara) Jane or Jane Barbery (Barbara) Davis b. 1825 in Manchester, OH. By 1855, they were living in either Sauk County or Monroe County where their last son was born, my great Grandfather, Jefferson Fredrick KELLEY / KELLY. By 1859, Barbara (Barbery) was remarried to a Richard Sutcliff and living in Wellington, Monroe Co., WI and is listed on the 1880 census as Jane B. Sutcliff. Does anyone know of a KELLEY /KELLY family that moved to IL in the early 1800's? or connect to this line? Thank you for any help, tips, etc. you can provide.
