    1. [TNROANE] Mary "Polly" Hurt SHAHAN poss. dtr. of Albert/ Roane Co, TN
    2. Have you found out who Albert Hurt's folks were? Our Mary Polly's first two daughters were named Sarah Elizabeth and Martha. And her first sone was names James Albert Shahan. Following convential naming patterns of the time... these could be some indicators. Could Alber Hurt be named after his father? Is there a James Hurt anywhere close by? We know that David B. Shahan's parent's names were Daniel Shahan and Martha "Patsey" Hussong. Daniel Shahan married Patsey Hussong August l0, l820 in Blount County, Tenn. We have census information in Roane County which indicates that Daniel was a shoemaker, born ca. 1799 in South Carolina. 2. sharon brown
    3. I'm looking for someone to take a picture of two Robbs men's tombstones. They are James Alex and Edward Watson Robbs. They are buried at Whites's Creek Baptist Cem. near Knoxville. James Alex was born in 1803. Edward was born in 1827. Wish I could say these Robbs were relatives. Hope they prove to be someday. A very nice older lady who is researching the Robbs descends from these two men. She has no way to get there. She ask my help in obtaining a picture. She doesn't have a comuter. Thank you ...to anyone who can help. A digital picture would be fine....

    1. [TNROANE] Hello Again
    2. sharon brown
    3. My great-great-grandfather was born in Stewart Co. His name was James W. Robbs. Another Robbs, John Lowery was born threre around 1826, a few years before James.I don't know their relationship. We feel they were traveling through the country, as many people were then, from NC. I know there are several Robbs in Roane Co.. I'm just trying to find a link. A sister of John's was born in NC. I have the census reports from Stewart and Roane. Is anyone researching the Robbs family? John and James both settled in Southern Illinois. All of the Robbs seem to be descendants of these two men. Sharon Robbs Brown
