Nancy, On the 1891 Widow's Census, does Sarah Brock show up there? Also, what age is listed for her on the 1900 census? Is there an 1880 census for Rhea County? If so, do James and Sarah Brock show up there? If so, are there any children listed? What are the childrens' ages and the ages of James and Sarah? Our family Bible states James Brock died 12/15/1922 ~ well after the 1900 census listing of Sarah as a widow (if it's the SAME Sarah Brock). However, the Campbell County Death Index for 1914-25 does NOT list a James Brock having died in 1922 (or any year between for that matter!). His MOTHER's father died in November 1925 and I wonder if he's remembering HIS death (my uncle was born in December 1920). If my theory is right, James Brock may have widowed Sarah prior to 1900.
