Wanted to check with some "local" folks about directions from Caryville to Dayton, TN. From my road map, it looks like the most direct route would be I-75S to the Lake City exit, taking 25W to Route 61 to Oak Ridge. From there, it looks like Route 62 would go to Route 27 to Dayton. Is this the best route/roads? Sometimes it's hard to tell from atlases just how well traveled roads are. Do you locals agree this is the best route, rather than going from Knoxville on I-40? TIA, Donna (Brock) Strong P.S. Would the Dayton Courthouse hours be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, as is pretty typical? Do they have really old Rhea County records to where I might trace my grandfather and his family?
