Interesting info from Rhea County, TN Census, Marriages, Tax records 1850-1900: Marriages: Mary R Davis to Creed Shadwick Oct 14, 1892, Wm Morgan JP 4-64 Nancy E Davis to William Dye Sep 25, 1855 (same), A Campbell JP 1-#518 Nancy J Shadwick to William Dye/Dyer q.v., which means the date is under the groom's name, but the only marriage listed for William Dye is to Nancy E Davis. Since Nancy was married in 1855 the 1850 census is the only one where she would appear with her parents, and I do not find her there. There is 37 years between the marriage of Nancy and Mary. If these were first marriages in the 16-20 year range for each, the chances are they are not sisters. Do you have any ages or birthdates for Nancy or Mary?
