Hello, Researchers planning to visit the East Tennessee History Center need to be aware of the following holiday schedule: On Friday, April 2, 1999, the following offices/agencies will be closed for the Good Friday holiday: East Tennessee Historical Society offices Calvin M. McClung Historical Collection Knox County Archives The ETHS Museum will be open regular hours on Friday. (10 am to 4 pm) All agencies follow regular business hours on Saturday, April 3, as follows: Calvin M. McClung Historical Collection -- 9 am to 5 pm ETHS Museum -- 10 am to 4 pm Knox County Archives and ETHS offices -- closed .On Sunday, April 4, all agencies/offices, including the ETHS Museum will be closed for the Easter holiday. Although we hope to have seen the last of winter weather, we also remind patrons to always call in advance when Knoxville is experiencing winter weather to ensure that the facility is operating under normal conditions. Remember also when planning out-of-town research to the East Tennessee History Center (or any other research facility) to contact the facility in advance of your visit to determine if normal operating hours will be in effect during the time of your visit. This will also allow you to determine if special advance reservations must be made to view specific manuscripts, collections, etc. Enjoy your research.
