I guess I don't understand either. The introduction by our new member, in my humble opinion, was totally appropriate. This seems to be no different than any other request or roll call. Possibly, the member who is offended (or whatever), thought he had enrolled in the digest mode. I normally do on some lists, but there isn't enough traffic on this list for it to be overwhelming to me. Maybe the single inquiry was the problem. Just guessing, and hope it doesn't offend anyone.
