Please, use the "Subject Line" for your question. It would be a lot easier to weed through the messages if you use the subject line properly. If you say "question" or "wondering" or something else, you will get better responses by just using some of the words in your message. " Want Census Rhea",and include the year you would like to have is more logical then some word that gives no information to what you want. PLEASE use the subject line for what it was intended. Linda

Isn't anyone on the Welch list researching Welch's in Roane or Rhea Counties of Tennessee? I'm attempting to find out who the Catherine Welch was in the 1860 Rhea County census living next door to William Myers, her son in law. Hope someone can assist me with this info. William married "Mary" Welch in Roane County in 1842. Thanks Will Smith
Jean, None of the people you mentioned are in the Rhea 1860 Census. Edna

Hi Folks, I forgot who was asking, but while looking for something else I came across a site that has a Looper family connection: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~tracers/looper.htm not much there, just Iredell and Alexander Co, NC to Clinton Co, KY to Fentress Co, TN to Dallas Co, TX But you might want to write the host. Hi Linda, You remind me of something I meant to ask the list. If you would like to have a page for reunion announcements on the Rhea site, I will make one and folks can submit the information. There is also a general site: http://www.tngenweb.org/events.htm where those notices can be posted. I know this is a list for Rhea Co. but am hoping that someone can help with a couple of Meigs Co. families. I have the following information: Calvin B. Atkinson married Elizabeth A. Masoner, 27 or 30 Dec 1847. They appear on the 1850 Meigs co. census with a son, John N. Then I don't find them in any other Meigs Co census. Anyone have any information on them? I also have James Long married Ruth E. Masoner 28 July 1842. They do not appear on the 1850 Meigs Co. census. Does anyone know where they went? Any help or clues would be greatly appreciated. Hello, I am looking for information about MARTHA JANOE who married a JOHN GENO from South Carolina. She came to McMinn County TN in 1823 and had a son named DAVID, James 1825, Louisa Jane 1826, Mary Ann 1829 and Calvin 1830. Seeking information about surname:GENNOE, GENO, JANOE, JANNOE, ETC Thank You Sandra
If a family in the pre 1860 era named their sons Marquis Lafayette, Christopher Columbus, Napoleon Bonaparte, George Washington, James Knox Polk, and Thomas Jefferson, can any of you tell me who the two following sons in the same family might have been named for? John S.D. and Joseph E are two I can't figure out. Joseph E (don't have another initial for him at this time) was a twin of Margaret C.E. and I'd sure like some suggestions on Margaret's possible full name, also. The C in Margaret's name probably isn't Catherine as she had a sister named Catherine. Well, it could be, I'm not ruling out anything. No, it's not a joke, I'm really trying to figure out those names, can't think of a famous person for them. Surname withheld to protect the family image:) The other daughters in the family were named Jennie, Nancy Ann, and Velera (?) C. Edna Clack
The only Burton I find through 1829 is John Burton, 1 WP, Capt. White's Co. He lived on the Meigs side of the Tn River, apparently. Edna Clack
I would appreciate a lookup from the Rhea Co., Tax list (personal and property) from about 1820 thru 1836 for the following: James BURTON John BURTON Thanks, Earlene
