I have changed the graphic slightly and have added a new .wav file to my tribute page to World War II veterans. It is linked from my genealogy page. I would greatly appreciate some feed back and if you belong to a veterans organization that has a webpage, I would like the url so I can link to it. Please allow the wav file to load completely. I have also added a political joke page as well for those conservatives amongst us who need a good laugh while digging up dead relatives! Enjoy! Some time back, I posted a story to this list about the Boy Scouts that drowned in White's Creek during the 1929 flood. I've now found my picture of that monument and have posted it at: http://members.aol.com/Newport1745/Boyscouts.htm The new bridge built across White's Creek is much higher than the old one so just the top of the monument now shows as you drive across the bridge in to Roane County. Just this evening, I determined that the above marriage was that of my g-grandfather's brother, William M. Brock. I had been given the information from Faye Russell (thanks Faye!) many months ago but I wasn't able to verify it until I found a daughter-in-law of one of William and Love's daughters this evening (talked for an hour on the phone!). Since my grandfather, William C. Brock, was born in Rhea Co., TN in February 1886, I'm now wondering if the BROCK family might have originated from there. I am wondering if someone might check the 1880 census for Rhea County for family members such as: William M. BROCK b: 1855 James B.? BROCK b: June 1857 I have no further information on siblings, nor parents' names. Hopefully, someone can find the household for these brothers. Actually, now that I think about it (it's almost 11:30 p.m.), James was married in 1875/76 to Sarah Elizabeth Ivey (haven't as yet been able to find their marriage record); so only William M. Brock would show in a household with his parents (hopefully with his parents). Anyway, any information is appreciated. TIA, Donna (Brock) Strong Hamilton, Ohio P.S. The information given about their marriage indicates A.D. Morrison, Minister of the Gospel, performed the ceremony. Does anyone have any information as to in which church this might have occurred? There is also a reference of 1-493 at the end of the line.
