Dear Anne, Several years ago I was sent some information on the Lee family by Alene Lee Roberson of P.O. Box 1933, Riverview, FL 33569. I will excerpt a small part of it here to see if it can help. Lee Generations: The move to Tennessee Hezekiah Lee married Chloe _______ Parents of Augusta Lee Augustine (or Augusta) Lee was born probably around 1800 or late 1790's and died in 1848. He married Rachel Nichols in 1820 in Columbia, Tenn. Augustus Lee came to the Wilderness of Tennessee in 1810 by the way of North Carolina from Virginia. He settled on the Old Walton Road, two miles west of Standing Stone. (Standing Stone is the old name for Monterey) This report said about 1820, but the Putnam County History by Walter S. McClain at the Cookeville Library states it was 1810. Matthias Welch came from North Carolina about 1830 and settled near the head of Falling Water. He had a brother Thomas, buried at Rocky Point. He also had a brother Jonathan. Matthias Welch's children Rebecca, Alec, and Nate married Augustus Lee's children, Zacharias Lee, Katherine Lee, and Martha Lee.
