    3. Hi I am interested in learning more about my BRYANT and HICKS relatives in Putnam Co. The name usually seems to have been spelled Briant or Bryant by my great grandmother spelled it Bryan in her Bible record. Her brother Richard H. served in Co. C 10th Tennessee Mounted Infantry, Union from Putnam Co. and his military and pension files use the Bryant spelling. One brother John BRYANT used the name John Washington HICKS after he grew up. This family was said to be Cherokee, but I have found no proof other than pictures and my grandfather knew Cherokee medicine and how to make his own bow and arrows. Ted Stout [email protected]
