Hi there! I am new to the mailing list and thought I would share my information... My gggrandfather is GEORGE WASHINGTON ALBERTSON born October 1839 in Tennessee. He married EMILY JANE MARSH (full blood Cherokee) in Smith County, Tennessee 21 June 1866. From the book that lists the people from Tennessee who fought in the Civil War, I have information on a G. W. Albertson who served in the 8th (Smith's) Cav. Co. I and there is also information on a George W. Albertson who fought in the 4th (Murray's) Cav. Co. F. From what I gathered - both of these regiments are men from Fentress County.. I was able to locate them on the 1870 Census living in Putnam County, TN..
