She was the daughter of John Allison Jr. and Sarah Toler(the parents of Sarah Toler: John Toler and Sally Thomas). Jimmy and Sarah lived in the Ditty Community of Putnam Co. I am descended from their son Charter William Mitchell and Susan Ditty (Susan's parents Abraham Ditty and Jincy Fergus. Jincy's father Frances Fergus). Charter was a well known Potter in the Ditty Community. I am descended from the son of Charter and Susan, Mires Haywood Mitchell and Sarah Catherine "Cannie" Nabors(Cannie's parents Barnett Naborn and Rachel Adeline McCaleb). My great grandmother Ruth Wesley Mitchell was the daughter of M.H. and Cannie. She married William Burrell Ward. My Grandfather, Ode Ward who is now 86 was the son of Ruth and Willie. From what I can gather, he spent most of his life in Putnam County, probably around Algood or Monterey areas. This is my great-grandfather, and would like to get in contact with any of his descendents or other relatives that might have any information on him.     2. Is anyone researching a Rogers line out of Putnam (or a nearby county) that has a Mary "Polly" Jane Merritt marrying into it. Mary was born in 1797. I do not know the first name of the Rogers guy she married or any of their children. Mary's Merritt family is also known to have been in Smith, Jackson and Dekalb. This was Mary's first marriage. She much later married 2nd to Joseph Roberts. Any help would be truly appreciated. Robie

I would strongly recommend the book PUTNAM COUNTY CEMETERIES compiled and published by MAURINE ENSOR PATTON, 1656 WEST BROAD, COOKEVILLE, TN 38501. I am not sure what Mrs. Patton is asking for the book, but any serious researcher in Putnam County would want to have this book. It has helped me tremendously and I do know that the Brown's Mill Cemetery is listed in the book. Steve
