On the 1900 Benton, Polk Co., TN federal census, William Moore was listed with his wife, Sarah, and 3 children, Willie, Benjamin, and Scholott. William was born 1828 in PA. Sarah was born 1849 in TN. Willie, Benjamin, and Scholott were all born between 1883 and 1888 in TN. I couldn't identify them in the TN censuses after that. William was elder brother to my great grandfather, James B. Moore, both sons of Johannes Conrad and Susannah Nagel Mohr/John C. and Susan Moore. William was previously married to Charlotte Staples in Tazewell Co., IL. They had a family but William and Charlotte separated. She listed herself as a widow, but brother in law, Daniel Moore, of Decatur, Macon Co., IL said William was living in Benton, Polk Co., TN at the same time. William was a Civil War veteran.
