    1. [TNPOLK] Burial Site of Sarah Haynes/Hanes DUFF
    2. Bonnie Duff-Smith
    3. I found the online listing of the Cumberland Shed Presby Cem. and no DUFF names are listed for gravesites, yet at the bottom of the list a Capt. DUFF is mentioned?? John DUFF and Wife Sarah Haynes/Hanes DUFF arrived in what was then the Hiwassee Dst. of Monroe Co. in c.1824 with their family of 8 or 9 children. One of these children, John Calvin DUFF married Henrietta MERCER. He was Sheriff of Polk County for some time, then U.S. Marshall. He had 4 sons who also became US Marshalls. Believe they served in surrounding counties of McMinn, Bradley, etc. These were devoted Presbyterians and are mentioned in writings about Shed Cumberland Presby Church. I believe this grandmother, Sarah Haynes/Hanes DUFF and her husband, JOHN DUFF (he died fighting a grass or forest fire in 1829), are both buried here. Can someone check records of this Church and Cemetery, if they are available, for John and Sarah Haynes/Hanes DUFF. He died c. 1829, she died c.1867, both believed born in 1780s. Thanks. Bonnie Duff-Smith, Longview, TX
