    3. A Polk researcher, Robin Hunt, has asked if we could start a marriage collection project for Polk, which I think is a great idea, considering the inavailability of early marriage records. Connie is going to handle the processing of the information. So if you have a marriage that happened in the Polk area in your family before 1894, send both the bride and groom names to Connie (address below) with at least 2 pieces of evidence verifying it took place. One of them can be from census records, but not both.     3. I'm looking for the children of Jesse C. Moore. He was born in 1797 in NC, died March 6, 1859 and was buried at Cumberland Shed Cemetery. Jesse first appears in the 1840 Census for Polk Co. TN. Does anyone have an index of the 1830 census to see if Jesse is there? I know birth and death records and wills etc. are sparse prior to the Civil War, but I wondered if there are any land records from the time before the Civil War. I believe my gg-grandfather, George (or Governor) Washington Moore, who is also buried at Cumberland Shed might be Jesse's son. Thanks for your help. Kay E.
