Jim L. Reynolds, 83 MUNCIE - Mr. Jim L. Reynolds, 83, of Muncie passed away at Ball Memorial Hospital on June 20, 2006 after an extended illness. Jim was born in Pickett County, Tennessee on January 6, 1923 a son to Jasper E. and Flora (Franklin) Reynolds. He attended schools in Pickett County and was in the U.S. Army, Omaha Beach of the Normandy invasion where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked for Butterfields and Sudlow Foods as a foreman. He was a member of the D.A.V., and the Bearcat Booster Club, attended Abundant Life Christian Church. He also loved to restore horse drawn farm equipment, and worked at Fran's House of Ceramics. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Frances A. (Martin) Reynolds; two daughters, Janet Faye Reynolds of Forbus, TN and Judith Elliott of Dayton, OH; nephew, Jack Reynolds, (wife Lil) of Muncie, IN; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren other nieces, nephews, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James D. Reynolds in 1967; and two brothers, and three sisters. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday June 24, 2006 at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams St., with Rev. Jim Day officiating. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Cemetery with military rites by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday June 23, 2006 at Parson Mortuary, and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the Mortuary.
