    1. Jackson County TN Tax list 1802
    2. Stan Arney
    3. Hi, I need some help, please. I have located a reference to Peter Arney in the Jackson County, Tennessee tax list of 1802. I can get a copy from the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville, TN for $10.00. Does anyone live in the area, and could you possibly get a copy of it for less? I wrote them an email asking how I could obtain a copy of it, and this is their response: "I was able to locate the listing for Peter Arney on the 1802 tax list for Jackson County. The entry is located: Microfilm: Early Tennessee Tax Lists / reel 5 County & Year: Jackson County, 1802 Page: 5 The tax list gives little in the way of personal information on theinhabitants. The listing indicates the number of acres held, and two columns (unspecified) that appear to indicate the rate that each acre is to be taxed. You can order a copy of this record for $10. Please send a written request (along with a copy of this e-mail message) to: Tennessee State Library and Archives ATTN: RESEARCH 403 7th Avenue North Nashville, TN 37243-0312 Ronald A. Lee Tennessee State Library & Archives" If you can get me a copy of this tax record for less than the $10.00 they require, I would deeply appreciate it, otherwise I will just order it from them. Thank you for your time, consideration, and cooperation. Sincerely, Stan Arney Stanley Arney Wichita, KS Researching my Arney heritage, looking for definitive tangible proof of each of their existence, so we KNOW the truth and can share it with others.
