Mr. Scroggins father, Sherman Elvis Scroggins, was the son of George W. Scroggins and Hannah Kathleen Clayborn. Mr. Scroggins mother, Ida Storie, was the daughter of Henry Edd Storie and Mary E. Garrett. Both of his parents are buried at Mt. Era Cemetery in Pickett County, TN. Mr. Scroggins wife, Ruby Jane Conatser, is the daughter of Wilburn Conatser and Chloe Choate. Both of her parents are buried at New Hope Cemetery, Fentress County, TN, ---------------------------------------------------------------- Earnest George Scroggins BYRDSTOWN--Earnest George Scroggins, 80, 8338 Faix Rd., Byrdstown, passed away Sunday morning, March 18, 2007 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a mechanic. He was born Dec. 26, 1926 in Pickett County, the son of the late Sherman Elvis and Ida Mae (Storie) Scroggins. He lived all of his life in Pickett County and was a member of the Moodyville Union Baptist Church and a veteran of WWII serving in Panama. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Sherman Scroggins Jr.; three sisters: Opal Henderson, Mary Gilreath and Shelby Jean Haubrich. Surviving relatives include wife, Ruby Jane (Conatser) Scroggins, Byrdstown; three children: Douglas Scroggins and friend Glee Holman, Byrdstown; Kathy Pritchett and husband Jimmy, Grimsley, Tn.; Frances Pemberton and husband Garfield, Byrdstown; four grandchildren, Kole Pritchett, Kelly Ramey, Jason Scroggins and Amber Thornton; one great grandchild, Avery Pritchett. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rick Cross and Bro. Howard Scroggins officiating. Burial was at Mt. Era Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Kole Pritchett, Jason and Bobby Scroggins, Luke Ramey, Chuck Thorton, Robbie Matthews. Honorary pallbearers were: Charles Palmer, Gary Ford, Tony Ortega, John Chong Park, Hugh Manis, Huell Johnson, Bill Storie, Bob and John Mullins, Virgil Sensabaugh, Jerald Scroggins, Jerry and Glenn Parris, and Brandon Musk.
