Fellow Arney Genealogy Researchers, I'm extremely disappointed about the information I receive about the Arneys in Tennessee, and elsewhere. I have subscribed to many mailgroups, in Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina & Pennsylvania. I receive as many as 50 emails a day, from people doing genealogy research on their families, but NONE from Arney researchers. I'm even subscribed to the Arneygroup in Yahoo, and I receive nothing from any Arney researchers. I guess I must be the only one online still doing active research. We know that Peter Arney was born in Tryon County, NC in 1772. His father was Jacob Arney and his brother was Christian Arney. We know that Jacob moved his family from York County, PA to North Carolina in 1767, to a place about 3 miles from Bethania. We know that Jacob Arney died in 1784 (in Lincoln County, NC), and that Peter was bound to a John Fullenwider in 1787, until his 21st birthday. We know that Christian Arney also died in 1834 (in Lincoln County, NC). We know that Peter moved to Wythe County, VA around his 21st birthday (1793), married and began his family. We know that Peter then moved again, sometime after 1800 with his family. They settled in Overton County, TN, where he died in 1845. This branch of the Arneys has been in Tennessee ever since, many still reside there today. I'm trying to find out more information about both ends of the spectrum. Especially, where did Jacob Arney come from, who were his siblings and his parents, how did he get to Pennsylvania, and why did he move to North Carolina? Many of you fellow researchers have seen me post many times about this, and I apologize for sending it to you again.
