Stan, I don't know if you have looked at Ancestry.com, I don't have a membership, but you can join if you think it is worth it. Also, FamilySearch.com has a free search engine. I did find several Arney's in counties in Tennessee other than Clay for 1880. I believe Grundy, Lincoln, Johnson were listed, and maybe some more. We are planning a trip to the Dakotas, Wyoming, Colorado, which may take us through Wichita in late June. Have been through there a couple of times and had a business meeting there several years ago.
