Winnie, I have two Joel Holberts who lived in Pickett or Fentress Counties. There is Joel "Joe" Holbert, b. 1841 who married Mary E. "Betsy" Adkins, b. 1842. Both of them are buried in the Smyrna Church Cemetery, according to my information. I have not seen the gravestones, and don't have the death dates. However, tis could not be the Joel and Betsy that you reference, since they married much earlier and had several children by that time. The did have a son named Joel LaFayette Holbert, b. 1874 and died 1951, married Sarah Sally Manis, b. 1873. She died, and Joel L. married Minnie Belle Nation. Both, Joel LaFayette and Minnie Belle Nation are buried in the Allardt Cemetery, Fentress County TN, along with several of their children, and the children of Joel L. and his first wife. So it looks like the marriage you have in White County TN was not for the Fentress/Pickett County Holberts.
