Surnames: JOHNSON Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VgB.2ACE/668.1.1 Message Board Post: Hello Les, The problem I have with Wm Marion Johnson wife being Mary Stepp, sister to Wm Stepp is that Mary Stepp, age 15, is still living at home with parents in 1860 Fentress census. Wm Marion Johnson is md to a Mary LNU according to 1860 census with one daughter in the HH. This Mary is age abt 24. Wm and Mary had to be md abt 1857/58 due to thier daughter, Elizabeth being born abt 1858/59. Studied the 1850 & 1860 census of Fentress Co and found that a John Pile had a daughter, Mary age 13, in 1850. In 1860 this Mary is no longer living in John Piles HH# 652, same district as Wm Johnsons HH#677. This Mary would have been abt age 23/24 in 1860, which would fit the Mary of 1860 md to Wm Johnson. Just a hunch I have. But why would this Mary LNU leave her son, Wm Cooney Johnson with Wm Stepp? They must have had some type of relation. Any additional thoughts/comments welcomed. Thanks Jim Garrett
