Hi everyone, Hey, I know I post this question every so often, but I feel if I do not ask, I will never know. I know there are many people researching Arney genealogy. Maybe you have found yourself at a "dead end", meaning you have gone as far back as you possibly can and have hit too many "brick walls". I can understand that, because I have that feeling way too often lately. Maybe you feel like the information is simply "lost" for all time. Maybe you feel that you are finding too much conflicting information and have no idea how to decide what is correct. For those of you who have joined many of the web groups or newsletter groups, I'm certain you have come across at least one of my postings. I'm certain there are many of you who have been doing far more intense research and for even longer than I have. Granted I have mainly followed just the Arney surname of my family back in time. So, I do mainly just follow the males of the family. However, following back in! history, everything was recorded solely on the man's family surname, so this does seem to reason. Anyways, I am looking for anyone who is researching my direct Arney family. Which traces back from Peter Arney, born in 1772 in Tryon (now Lincoln) County, North Carolina. Peter moved to Wythe County, Virginia after 1790, married and started his family. Finally, Peter moved to Overton County, Tennesse where he died in 1845. Peter Arney's father was Jacob Arney, who died in 1784 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. We know that one of Peter's brothers was Christian Arney, who fought during the American Revolutionary War. We know when their father, Jacob Arney died and we know where he died, in Lincoln County, NC. We do not know however where he came from or who his parents were. It was believed that Jacob's father was a Frederick Ernigh, but this has turned out to be false. That puts us Arney genealogy researchers back a step. This is the specific Arney genealogy line, I'm trying to follow. I want to create an Arney genealogy website, with this specific Arney line. So that anyone else who comes after us, will find this information much more easily. Anyone with ties to this direct Arney line, I will try to make sure I have a link to them. That way, if our children or our grandchildren get interested and use the Internet to try to find this information, it will not be as difficult for them nor take them decades to find it, like we did. If you are among this Arney line, someone researching this Arney line, or if you know of a researcher researching this Arney line, please let us help each other solve the "Mystery of Jacob Arney", which is over 200 years in the making. Take care and God bless. Stan Arney Wichita, KS Stanley Arney Wichita, KS Researching my Arney heritage, looking for definitive tangible proof of each of their existence, so we KNOW the truth and can share it with others. Building a website that will make it easier for those who come after me to find their Arney lineage. --------------------------------- Yahoo! Do you have a Mary Gunnells and a Zeke Gilpatrick in your Frentress County Arneys? Some where I read they were connected in some way. thanks Jean ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stan Arney" <arney9thgeneration@yahoo.com> To: <TNPICKET-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 16, 2006 9:41 AM Subject: [TNPICKET-L] Arney Genealogy Research currently ongoing > Hi everyone, > > Hey, I know I post this question every so often, but I feel if I do not > ask, I will never know.
