Gina, I can help you with directions to Wolf River Cemetery in Fentress County. The easiest way to get to Fentress County from Knoxville is to take I-40 west to exit 317 at Crossville. When you exit you will be on US 127. You want to turn right (North) and proceed about 30 miles to Jamestown. Continue on US 127N another 9 or 10 miles. You will pass by a large Rock Quarry. About one mile further, look for a sign that says Alvin C. York Burial Place. Turn right and go across a bridge, continue another 1/4 to 1/2 mile and cross another small bridge. Turn left immediately after crossing the second small bridge. Go about 1/2 mile to the Wolf River United Methodist Church on the left. The cemetery is on the right. I looked in the Fentress County Cemetery book by Mabel Wheeler, and didn't see any Jenkins, Jones or Tompkins families buried there. The book was published in 1988. Let me know if I can be of any further help. Willie, Thank you for the directions. I am hoping we can get to Jamestown within the next few weeks. I am hoping to find Richardson's in the Wolf River Cemetery. I didn't include that surname with my previous post, I am absent minded tonight <G>. My husband's Richardson family were from Jamestown. And that is what was confusing me, I have heard Wolf River mentioned, but thought for Fentress county, but then I read somewhere else about Wolf River Church being in Overton or Pickett. I knew his Richardson line was more from the Fentress area. Thanks again for the directions. I printed them out! Gina, I looked in the Fentress County Cemetery book and found Richardsons, but none in the Wolf River Cemetery (up to publication of the book in 1988). I live on a farm that adjoins Richardson property that belonged to Will Richardson, born Feb 5 1886 and died May 21 1967. He and several other family members are buried in the Albertson Cemetery, which is located on my farm. Would this Richardson family be any of what you're looking for? There are Richardsons buried in Fentress Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery, King Cemetery, New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Stephen H Pile Cemetery (Stoke Richardson), Taylor Place Cemetery, and one Richardson buried in Unknown Cemetery. The Stephen H. Pile Cemetery is a small family cemetery in Wold River area. Could it be the one you're looking for rather than Wolf River Cemetery? I will be happy to give you the names of those buried in any of these cemeteries if you think they might be your family members? Specifically, what names are you looking for, and about what time frame would they have been buried?
