Mr. Glass' father, Ephram Morgan (Gus) Glass, was the son of Alex Glass and Loucretia (Lou) E. Martin. His mother, Millie E. Smith, was the daughter of James Douglas Smith and Remember Caroline Shelly. Both of Mr. Glass' parents are buried at the Smyrna Cemetery in Pickett County. Mr. Glass' wife, Bertha Beaty Glass, is the daughter of Oakley Clayton Beaty and Vannie A. Choate, both buried at Choate Cemetery, Doubletop, Fentress County, TN. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- BYRDSTOWN -- Funeral services for James Edgar Glass, 75, of Byrdstown, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 9, at Brown Funeral Chapel in Byrdstown. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery. Mr. Glass died Friday, April 6, 2007, at his residence. He was born June 24, 1931, in Pickett County to the late Efrom (Gus) and Millie Smith Glass. He was a retired State Highway Department employee and lived all of his life in Pickett County. Mr. Glass attended the Star Point Church of Christ. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of Little Crab Masonic Lodge #614. His family includes his wife, Bertha Beaty Glass of Byrdstown; a brother-in-law, L.B. Mitchell of Byrdstown; a niece, Vikki Mitchell of Nashville; two nephews, Robert and Adrain Mitchell, both of Byrdstown; a special uncle, Beecher Smith of Byrdstown; special family, Ann Leonard and Pat Martin, both of Byrdstown; other family members and a host of friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carrie Lou Mitchell. Bros.
