Wallace Poor's father, Benton Gaither Poor, and his mother, Vannie Mae Flowers, are both buried at Williams' Chapel Cemetery, Pickett County, TN. Both sets of his grandparents are buried at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie, Delaware County, TN. ------------------------------------------------ NEW CASTLE - Wallace "Wally" Poor, a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away unexpectedly at Henry County Hospital, Tuesday, December 5, 2006. He was born March 17, 1941 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Benton Gaither and Vannie (Flowers) Poor. He grew up on his family's farm in Henry County and graduated from Middletown High School in 1959. He and his wife Phyllis, celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on November 22, 2006 surrounded by their children and grandchildren. Wally retired from Dana Corporation after 34 years of employment as an electrician. He spent seven years employed by Borg-Warner in Muncie, and was a member of the New Castle Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife: Phyllis Poor of New Castle whom he married November 22, 1958; three children: Terri (husband: Jay) Martin of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jeffrey (wife: Cathie) Poor of Rockledge, FL and Phillip (wife: Karin) Poor of Zionsville, IN; seven grandchildren: Will and Emma Martin, Ashley, Krista and Jonathan Poor, Aidan and Helen Poor; three brothers: Kenneth (wife: Pat) Poor of Livermore, CA, Gerald (wife: Janice) Poor of Muncie and Ronald (wife: Marilyn) Poor of Fortville; sister: Carol Ann (husband: Don) Scholl of Bargersville; a brother-in-law: Dick (wife: Rita) Rector of Venice, FL; mother-in-law: Frances (husband: Chester) Skinner; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2006 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2006 at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Charity of Donor's Choice.
