Wilma, Thanks for the feedback. I'm also sending this to the Pickett Co list as I would like any possible feedback from anyone who might know about Ida Bowles/Boles. I will tell you what I know about Ida. She was from Byrdstown, but I haven't learned her parents' names yet. There is an Ida Boles in the 1900 census for Pickett Co TN, but she is not old enough to be my Ida. Ida was born 11-13-1882, and married John H. Matthews/Mathews about 1901. The Ida M. Boles in the 1900 census is the dau. of Milton Boles and born December 1873. John Matthews and Ida Bowles/Boles adopted a dau. named Dora Mae, b. about 1900 in Missouri. She married a Chesser. I know nothing else about Dora Mae. Am looking for when and where she died, hisband given name and any family they may have had. John and Ida also had a dau. (presumed biological, but may be adopted) named Connie, born August 12, 1911 in KY. She married Ralph Gordon Vanderpool, born about 1909 in TN. They had a son, W. Gordon Vanderpool, born about 1928 in Scott Co TN. Connie died January 19, 1941 in Scott Co TN, and is buried in the Stoey Cemetery in the Mt View community. The last name on her tombstone is Storey, so I assume she either divorced or was widowed from Vanderpool, and married a Storey. Her tombstone was erected by her son, as indicated by the inscription on it. As I learned some of this after I made a trip to Scott Co to visit the cemetery, I don't know if husbands Vanderpool and Storey are buried in the same cemetery. That's about it. Any help would be appreciated. I remember the boy's name was Donald and he would be to young to be the Gordon you mention, and I think he and his sister lived with a Lawhorn, parents were dead or something happened to them. The second was the Boles woman, do you know anything else about her? Was she related to George Boles of Robbins? The reason I ask is JoAnn Shoemaker of Rugby Road is his daughter and she knows a lot about the people of Scott County. They might be relatives. The Storey cemetery you found, I'm not sure where it is, but I do know that the Storeys came from Pickett Co., TN. I can't remember her name but one of the girls went to school with my brother, and they lived on what is now old US # 27 at a place called Mt. View. I think her name was Betty, but wouldn't bet money on it. The Storeys that were daughters of Dud Storey at Glenmary were school teachers, I had one of them for a teacher. Don't know if this will help or not, but might give you a clue of maybe who to ask questions. Wilma Gibson Kokomo, IN
