Do we know where Peter grew up, at that time? Where was he living? I know this sounds like rehashing old information, but in order to back track Peter's life, it must be confirmed or denied. I know you must think that I dwell too much on Peter Arney's father, Jacob, and perhaps I do. At this time he is the "broken link". Jacob Arney, for the most part is an unknown. We cannot say for certain that he is the same Jacob Arney who left his will in NC, although all tangible proof seems to lead in that direction. Let's assume that he is the one and same Jacob Arney, who died in Lincoln County, NC in 1784. Now, how do we back track Jacob Arney's life? We know that this Jacob Arney passed away in Lincoln County, NC. We know that Peter Arney was born in Tryon County (which became Lincoln County), North Carolina. Is this merely a coincidence? Let's assume it is not. How do we trace Jacob Arney's past, has anyone done this? If so, please enlighten me, so that I may find the definitive tangible proof I seek, so I can say with surety that this is our Jacob Arney. Then maybe we will know where he came from and work even further back in time. Most of us have decided that Frederick Ernigh is now NOT part of our direct Arney branch.
