Edna Margaret Gunter Crouch was the daughter of William W. Gunter (b. 1/2/1890, d. 8/27/1918) and Mary Junie Amonett (b. 6/26/1893, d. 2/8/1926) -- both buried at Guntertown Cemetery, Pickett County, TN. Her husband was Osborn Eugene Crouch (b. 8/21/1912, d. 9/29/1981), son of William Lee (Willie) Crouch and Ollie Lottie Storie. He is also buried at Beaty Cemetery in Pickett County. On her obituary it mentions the couple who raised her -- Pierce and Katherine Smith. I believe this was Pearson (Pierce) Smith (b. 9/18/1860) and his second wife, Catherine Hancock Smith (b. 3/22/1866) -- both buried at Beaty Cemetery in Pickett County. Pierce Smith's first wife was Mary Elizabeth Gunter (b. 5/1868,d. 11/17/1905), who was a half-sister to Edna Margaret Gunter Crouch's father. Hi all. Just like the Overton County first deed book, which I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I have just finished with the Overton County Court Minutes, 1815-1824. I photographed every page of this book several months ago, and have imported the images into an adobe acrobat file. Today, I finished creating a “clickable”, every name index for it. The book was almost 500 pages. It is full of great court cases, such as divorces, thefts, murders, disputes over land, disputes over estates, etc. Tons of great info. Since Fentress and Pickett counties were both a part of Overton during this time period, I have sent this to those lists as well as the Overton Co. list. I will do some lookups for folks. I would ask that you please provide a first and last name of the person, or person you would like me to check for. If found, I will provide you with some basic information as to what their mention is in the record, whether a juror, or involved in a case. I will also make this book available for purchase, on cd for those interested. Please send all lookup requests directly to me at HYPERLINK "mailto:rex@digginbones.com"rex@digginbones.com . all. About a year or so ago, I used my digital camera to photograph every page of Overton County deed book A. I then imported these 330 pages into an Adobe Acrobat file. I then went through the entire book, and created an every name index to this deed book. This is a clickable index; meaning that once I locate a name of interest in the index, I simply click that name, and it takes me to the page containing that name. These deeds (many are original grants) are from the late 1700s to the very early 1800s. I have sent this email to Pickett and Fentress counties also, because they were both a part of Overton County at that time. I will gladly do some lookups from this deed book. Please email your requests directly to me at rex@digginbones.com. Include Overton County Deed book A in the subject line of your message. Please provide a first and last name. Please do not ask me for any Smiths, Jones, etc. First and last names must accompany your requests. Keep in mind that these cover a period of time from about 1785 1808, best I can tell, without ready every deed. Also, keep in mind that these are actual images of the deeds. They are not transcribed. Therefore, I will not be able to transcribe these for you, and type out the entire deed in a reply to a request. Instead, I will reply by providing the date of the deed, and the parties who were involved. I will also offer the complete deed book, with the clickable index, available for purchase on cd for those interested. Again, those interested may contact me directly at rex@digginbones.com Rex Bertram 132 S. Butler St. Redkey, IN 47373 Will research your ancestor at the world's second largest genealogy. However, when looking at the 1870 Fentress Co Census in HH of Harmon & Nancy Little, I do not see her listed. she should be abt age 7. There is a "Anna" age 6. Is this supposed to be her? Hi all. Anyone here who descends from William Parson and Lucy Pierce? I just discovered another child of theirs that I was not aware of. I discovered this in an 1878 Clinton Co., KY death record. Her name was Serena or Cerena. She was born about 1822, according to her death record. Her husband, per the 1870 Clinton Co., KY census was Arthur H. Pierce, who was also born about 1822. William and Lucy lived in that part of Overton Co. which became Pickett Co. Other known children of William Parsons and Lucy Pierce were: James C. Parson, born 1819 John Cally Parsons born 1825 Suzannah Parsons born 1826 Elizabeth Parsons born 1833. We can now ad Cerena to that list. Also, it should be noted that Cerena's mother's first name was actually listed as "Lucinda" on the death record. Previously, I have never seen it listed as anything other than Lucy.
