Hello: My William was born in 1803 and I thought it was in Va. but Linz says the following:Maury Co.Tn. 1820 census Sarah Mays (who was widow of Abraham) was head of household with the following children-Sarah born 1777 age 43 -1female age 1,Daid age9,Newton age 11,Thomas age 16, William(my ancestor) age 17, 1 female age 19. In Decatur Co. census for 1850 show Araham Mays age 53 in dwelling 47 - and Also William G. Mays age 21 in dwelling 48. My William died insolvent -R.J. Mays (Wm's son) was appointed administrATOR OF w.m. hAYES(A MISTAKE) SHOULD HAVE BEEN wM. mAYS IN mADISON cO. tHEN wM. MOVED TO gIBSON cO. AND WAS BURRIED IN hOPEHILL cEM. IN gIBSON cO.
