    1. [TNPERRY] Mays family
    2. Merle Howser
    3. I am descended from William Mays and Charlotte ? who were living in Perry Co.Tn. in the 1830's. Then they were in Decatur Co. in the 1840's. In the 1860's they were living in Madison Co. at Spring Creek. That is where Charlotte was buried in 1877. William later went to Gibson Co.Tn. where his son Robert lived. Wm. finally died 1886 and was buried in Hopehill Cemetery in Gibson Co. A Jesse Mays born in 1823 was the first child listed in the family. Then the next child 6 years later. I'm wondering if Wm. might have been married before he married Charlotte. His son Charlie Basdill born in 1839 was my grandfather. C.B. married Sallie Lee Cook and they moved to Tx. and lived in Mertens,Tx. My father Osborne Lee Mays was born 1873 in Carroll Co. Tn. He married Etta Mae Anglin in Groesbeck Tx. 01-02-1899. I was the fifth child of Osborne and Etta born a girl 11-04-1910. In 1930 I married Irvyn B. Howser in Tulsa, Okla. We moved to Haines, Alaska in 1947. Does anyone have any information on William's parents and where he was born? Also does anyone know Charlotte's last name and what her ancestry was? Merle M. Howser-P.O.Box 309-Haines, Ak. - 99827

    1. McDaniel, Walker, early 1800's
    2. KT
    3. Hi. I am researching my ancestors that lived in Perry County, Tennessee in the early 1800's. They are John F. McDaniel and his first wife Mary Horn. Possibly his second wife Mary Reeves-Thomas (a widow) lived there also. His children from his first marriage were: John McDaniel b abt 1810 in Perry County and Samuel R. McDaniel born abt 1813 in Perry County. His wife Mary Horn died there in 1815. His children wife his second wife were: Solomon, b 1820; Abraham, b 1826; Mary, Nicholas, and Charlie. Some of these children may have been born after they moved to Arkansas in late 1820's or early 1830's. Samuel R. McDaniel married Elizabeth Walker, also born 1813 in Perry County. Her parents are not for sure, could be David and Margaret (Pendelton) Walker or an unknown William and Nancy Walker. I have received conflicting reports as to whether white settlers were even in this area at that time. If not, what possible info is there that any of the women were Native American? Thanks for any info! :-) Kim Tallie

He and his children farmed on the banks of Denen's Landing and then when TVA flooded it became Densen Island my g grandaddy was Paul Agustus Thornton and he grew up in the Pine View Community all this in Perry County Tn. They had children Paul Agustus married Rebecca Jane Bone , Hiram R Thornton married Ollie Gibson and they had a son John William Thornton married Tishie (Bess) Bell. Hiram R married Minnie Buchanan Curtis and the children by that marriage were Leeland, Lionel, Burns, Dorthy who married Hebert Sheetz Hiram moved to Missouri sometime ago. John F had a daughter Mary Branch bFeb 14 1873 - August 16 1954 she was buried in Ham cemetery. There are more children not sure who.
