I TOO AM SEARCHING IN PERRY CO. MY NAMES ARE BYRD, BRANCH, BARNETT, MARSHALL, ROBERTS. PAT
There are lots and lots of Andersons in adjoining Hickman Co. Have you researched there? I do not have the data to research for you but you might see if Hickman Co has a list ..My ancestor, Berry Saunders was also a blacksmith in Perry Co in 1878....! I am on the Perry Co. mailing list. I had an indirect line of Kings living in Perry Co. from at least 1870 to 1900. By 1910 they were in Hickman Co. Some moved on to Gibson Co. Researching: Luke King and Sarah Curry King They had a daughter Asa Lee who married John R. Hinson, then she later married Charles Worrell. Also, Luke and Sarah had 3 sons. Judy Sanders
Diana; I have noticfed that since I posted to the Perry co board, and joined the mial list, I've not recieved but 2 comments. Ususally, once I subscribe to a mail list, the emails pour in on a daily basis! So, I've gathered that you are absolutely correct. Is anyone out there? Nancy
Yes, I am out here, but the names you are researching are not the same as mine. I don't get many responses either, but just assumed that folks were searching other names. Mine, by the way, are Whitson, Horner, Barry,Kelly and others, but those are primary. Thank you. Do you have any "proof" that William Green Mays was married to Harriet Esther Dickson? Or that William Green Mays was the son of Abraham? I don't have my file open tonight, but I don't think I have any "proof." Does anyone know anything about the Mary Saunders , age 62 b. S.C listed on the 1850 Perry Co Tenn census? She was living alone in household 57, between families John DePriest and James Dabbs..She shows no occupation but had 600 acres of land..Apparently her husband (whoever he might have been) received a land grant of 600 acres..That is an assumption on my part but 600 acres was the amount usually granted to the NC soldiers.. Berryman Sanders/Saunders, age 36, b. Tenn. blacksmith, lived in household 668 with wife Naomi T. (listed as Ann T.)and two children. Owned 250 acres. Joseph A. Sanders/Saunders age 30 b. Ky .farmer, household 924 with wife Sildah and five children. Shows no property on census. Is anyone researching these families? I know that several DePriests have married Sanders/Saunders in Perry County since early 1800's. Are the three families listed above related? If so, how? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Lee Sanders Hoover

List, Does anyone know of a Elizabeth Angeline and Martha Evaline Rayburn who lived there about 1836. I don't know if their mother had married a Rayburn or if these two girls married brothers. They were named in a will left in McMinn County, TN by a Charles Matlock in 1836. He stated that they lived six miles west of Perryville. Curious as to why this Matlock named the Rayburn girls in his will.
