Florence LEDFORD and SC EVANS married in Overton County 16 April 1898. ML BOWMAN was the surety. Albert EVANS and Nancy LOOPER married in Overton County 20 May 1873. Anyone know who the folks are? Ray Evans

I wish I knew who those EVANS were. I have an Albert Peterson Evans. But the family story is.. Albert Petterson Evans Sr. was suppose to be in the Confederate Army in the Civil War. Supposedly he got sick, was left in a private home, took pneumonia and died 6 weeks BEFORE his son, Albert Petterson Evans Jr. was born in 1863. Word was sent that he had died and was buried in TN. For reasons I don't know, his wife Martha came to Kentucky and settled in Union County, Boxville, KY. Perhaps our Albert Sr didn't really die and they just split up and he remarried. Perhaps it's a cousin. I've not worked much at all on the Evans family that is my mother in law's family. All I know is that Albert Evans SR married June 6 1855 in Rutherford Co., TN to Martha Pearcy.
