    3. I believe Malinda Langford was the daughter of John ( jack) and Mary POLLY (Crane) Langford of Overton County TN. I have a William Smith died ca 1846, Overton County TN. Are we searching in the same Smith family?     3. Rose I have a Fielding Smith ( 28 Sep 1793 VA - 28 Oct 1829 IN ) his father is William Downing ( 1772 - 1822 ) and his Mother Diana Yager ( 1774 - 1860 ) Fielding married Rhoda Carpenter had at least one son Henry Washington ( 1817 - 1898 ) Do you see any connection to your Fielding? Guille

    3. I really do not know. as I have a William Smith died ca 1847-9 in Overton County TN. and have no idea who his family was. (my fault cause i ahve not spent much time on the Smith line..) I do know the names of his children form a court record of the settlement of his estate. Mahulda Smith married Josiah bender Langford ca 1840 in Overton Co TN and they moved to Dade Co Mo by 1853. She was one of Williams daughters.
