Sarahs parents were William ? My grandmother raised me and the name Tipton rings a bell - she spoke of it. As a child (10 -12) years old, she rode from TN side saddle to OK Territory. They migrated to East TX and her sister Mattie Wray married a Copeland and another Copeland brother moved to Arkansas during the dust bowl of TX. My grandmother, Maggie Jane Wray, applied for an old age pension and had to have someone from the TN hills sign a statement saying they remembered her birth. AnoTher dead end is they say so many records have been destroyed by the civil war. Please keep in touch. Patsy

    3. There were Tiptons in Fentress County long ago. Still are. I think I remember some of them being Revolutionary soldiers who got grants in this area. A lot of Tiptons lived in the Buffalo Cove area of West Fentress County. Was that the William Carr who is buried on L. G. Puckett's farm near the City Lake in Livingston. Carr Creek is named for him I believe. Gary D.
