I have a book of biographies in which I noticed a John Lowrie Beveridge, Governor of Illinois from 1873-6. His parents were George and Ann Beveridge. He was well educated. First he taught in Wilson, Overton and Jackson Counties, Tenn. He read law and was admitted to the Bar, etc. I was just wondering if anyone from Overton County knows anything about him.
