I am descended from Isaac Taylor who was one of the first residents in Overton County near old Monroe. He was born 8-23-1783 and was a surveyor. He came to the MERO district of TN when it was a wilderness. His mothers name was Catharine _______ and she applied for a Rev pension under her husbands service. Isaac's father was George N. (Nathaniel?) Taylor who died at a fairly young age. Isaac married Agnes Copeland of the Col Stephen Copeland clan. His daughter Didama Taylor married my great great grandfather James Campbell (son of Joseph Campbell, another early Overton Co pioneer who settled there sometime around 1806 to 1810 and was a War of 1812 lieutenant from that area). James Campbell and family headed west to Kansas in the early 1850s then were in Nacogdoches, TX by 1860. I am interested in corresponding/ working with other researchers who are tied into these lines.
